Course Content
What is included in the course?
Every course participant will receive a copy of ‘The Chailey Approach to Postural Management’. This book is used as reference material for the course and is required reading BEFORE the course.
Lunch and tea / coffee are included in the price and you will receive an attendance certificate and a resource pack at the end of the course.
Who runs the course?
The course is run by Active Design and was developed through close liaison with the clinical and research staff
at Chailey Heritage Clinical Services in Sussex. We have been running similar courses for a number of years and
have become known for the high standard of course content. The course leaders are Jo Jex and Carolyn Nichols,
both physiotherapists with wide experience over many years, particularly in paediatrics. They also carry out
short, practice-based workshops with local teams on levels of ability, and on how to use analysis of ability
to inform choice of equipment. They will also assist with complex assessments and troubleshooting for some
of the most demanding postural problems.
What will I be expected to put in?
The more you put into a course like this, the greater the benefit on completion. We ask that you read
‘The Chailey Approach to Postural Management’ BEFORE the course date and come prepared to take part in mat
work activities and to try out various pieces of equipment for yourselves.
