The course costs £250 (including VAT) and includes a copy of the second edition of the book "The Chailey Approach to Postural Management", a comprehensive delegate pack, refreshments and a buffet lunch on both days of the course. The Chailey Levels of Ability are being used in a variety of ways: in the development of care pathways for complex disability as inclusion criteria, to assist in specifying appropriate postural management equipment, and as an outcome measure.
The aim of this course is to develop your knowledge of The
Chailey Levels of Ability and how they can be used as an effective
assessment tool for the analysis and assessment of postural ability. We consider how we can use analysis of ability in this way to identify strengths, weaknesses, and particularly, risks. We discuss how to use this information to plan appropriate programmes for twenty-four hour postural management , including the specification of appropriate supportive equipment.
This is what some of the previous course participants have
said about the course:
"This is an excellent course, expertly run and delivered."
"The course has extended and consolidated my knowledge
base."
"Finally something that can be used practically, a very
clear concept."
"It will drastically change my working practice."
This course is suitable for all healthcare professionals
working with complex disability who want to develop or refresh their knowledge of postural
management and equipment related issues; occupational therapists,
physiotherapists, rehabilitation engineers and others who
are involved in the assessment of postural ability and the
prescription of equipment.
