Two Day Course
The aim of the course is to develop your knowledge of the Chailey Levels of Ability and how they can be used as an effective assessment tool to measure postural ability. This information is then used to develop a twenty-four postural management programme.
Course Learning Objectives
The aim of the course is to:
- Develop your knowledge of the Chailey Levels of Ability and Assessment Charts as a tool for assessing postural ability
- Introduction to the evidence base for postural management
- Increase your awareness of the design and use of postural management equipment.
Participants
This course is suitable for healthcare professionals who want to develop or refresh their knowledge of postural management and equipment-related issues - occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation engineers and others who are involved in the assessment of postural ability and the prescription of equipment.
Course Cost and Booking
The cost of the course is £250 (including VAT). This includes:
- A copy of the Second Edition of the book The Chailey Approach to Postural Management
- Refreshments and lunch on both days
- All course materials and an extensive Delegate Pack including an interactive CD-ROM Attendance Certificate.
Further Information
The training course includes slide presentations, workshops and practical sessions. The training manual that will be sent to you before the course is essential pre-course reading. The course will focus on the Chailey Levels of Ability, their use as an assessment tool, the evidence base for postural management, and the design and use of the Chailey equipment.
The more you put into a course like this, the greater the benefit on completion. We ask that you read 'The Chailey Approach to Postural Management' BEFORE the course date and come prepared to take part in mat work activities and to try out various pieces of equipment for yourselves.
