Looking back at PMG Conference 2025: Clinical conversations, shared insights and the value of getting out there
From product demos to clinical discussions and long-overdue catchups, PMG Conference 2025 was a welcome reminder of why face-to-face events still matter. For the Active Design team, it was three days packed with practical insight, meaningful conversations and the opportunity to reconnect with the people at the heart of postural care.
Held in July at its usual home, the conference brought together hundreds of professionals across wheelchair services, rehabilitation engineering, therapy and specialist seating. Whether on our stand or in the audience for our presentation on A Hybrid Approach to Postural Seating, we were reminded of the value of bringing people together - not just to showcase new innovations, but to listen, learn and share clinical thinking.
Clinical, collaborative, connected
Postural care is never one-size-fits-all, and neither are the conversations that take place at PMG. We spoke with occupational therapists, physios, rehab engineers and seating specialists from across the country, discussing everything from component compatibility to clinical prescribing confidence.
Many of the most valuable conversations weren’t formal ones. They took place on stand corners, between sessions, and over coffee - clinicians sharing real-life challenges and observations from the services they support. Events like PMG continue to offer a unique space for that kind of peer-to-peer insight.
Our own presentation on hybrid seating models, delivered by Michaela and Steve, received thoughtful feedback and opened the door to wider conversations about evolving needs and the value of modular systems that can adapt over time.
Showcasing solutions and asking better questions
PMG also gave us a chance to showcase our full product range, including:
- CAPS II modular seating system, now with hybrid options combining custom bases with remouldable Lynx and Matrix backrests
- Fusion - a lightweight, adaptable modular system ideal for NHS prescribing
- The upgraded NEO heelbase with improved durability and performance
- Our full range of universal accessories, including dynamic footplates, multi-adjustable headrests, profiled lap straps, wrist and ankle snugs, and mounting adaptors compatible with a wide NHS fleet
These systems are all proudly designed and manufactured in the UK, a point that resonated with many delegates looking for locally made solutions with dependable supply chains.
But it wasn’t just about what we brought. It was about what we learned. Delegates were open about their clinical priorities, service pressures and feedback on how we can continue to improve - not just in product performance, but in lead times, availability and product support. We’re taking all of it on board.
Moving forward, together
As a business, we’ve undergone significant change in the last year - from a new manufacturing facility to continued investment in product development. PMG 2025 was a moment to reflect on that progress, but also to listen to the people who use, specify and rely on our products every day.
We’re now following up on conversations from the event and reaching out to teams who want support, CPD, product training or simply a conversation about the best fit for their service users.
Whether we saw you at PMG or not, if you’d like to arrange a visit, receive updated product guides, or learn more about our seating systems and accessories, we’d love to hear from you.
Thank you to everyone who visited the stand and a special thanks to our partners at AJM Healthcare and AJM Choice who joined us throughout the week.
Until next time.
