Active Design adds 2026 course dates to meet demand
Active Design, a UK leader in specialist postural seating and mobility solutions, has confirmed new dates due to strong and growing demand for its postural seating education programme, following the successful delivery of its first one-day course in October 2025.
The postural seating management course, which offers essential principles and practical skills for effective seating prescription, was developed to support clinicians and rehabilitation engineers involved in seating assessment and prescription. It focuses on core postural principles, clinical reasoning and the practical application of assessment findings to seating solutions across a wide range of needs.
Building on the positive response to the inaugural course, the February 2026 session, taking place on Tuesday 11 February at Active Design’s Birmingham facility, is now fully booked, with 16 delegates confirmed to attend. The course will be delivered by Dave Long, course lead for Active Design, and will include structured teaching, case discussion, practical insight and a certificate of attendance.
In response to continued interest, Active Design has confirmed two further course dates for 2026: Wednesday 10 June and Wednesday 7 October.
Commenting on the success of the programme, Dave Long said: “The enthusiasm around these courses has been really encouraging. What stands out is the appetite across the industry for shared learning and open discussion about postural seating practice.
“Active Design has taken a proactive role in creating a space where clinicians and engineers can come together, challenge thinking and learn from each other. That collaboration is essential if we want to continue improving outcomes for the people we support.”
The course reflects Active Design’s wider commitment to working closely with clinicians and services, ensuring that engineering decisions are informed by clinical insight and real-world practice. By investing in education and professional collaboration, the company aims to support confident, evidence-informed seating prescription across both modular and custom systems.
Places on future courses will be limited, and early registration is recommended. For more information contact info@activedesign.co.uk.
