Postural management course success shows strong demand for clinical training
Active Design’s newly relaunched postural seating course has been hailed a success, with clinicians and therapists praising the one-day session for its practical, engaging approach and valuable clinical insight.
The pilot course, held at Active Design’s Birmingham headquarters on 23 October, brought together professionals from across the mobility and rehabilitation sector for a day of postural management theory, hands-on practice, and factory-based learning.
Delivered by Dave Long, Clinical Director, the session covered clinical assessment, positioning, and intervention strategies before exploring how these principles translate into real-world equipment solutions.
Attendees described the course as “a good balance of practical and theory,” with some praising the “great open discussions and extensive knowledge from the course leads,” and adding that “the factory tour was a great touch and it was exciting to see the engineering behind the products.”

Steve Doble, Business Development Manager at Active Design, said: “The energy in the room was brilliant. There was real enthusiasm for learning and collaboration, a genuine buzz from start to finish. It’s clear there’s huge demand for high-quality, clinically focused training in this space, and we’re proud to be part of that conversation again.”
Active Design plans to expand the programme in 2026, with more dates to be announced soon.
